Lake of the Woods is a body of water located in Manitoba, Ontario and Minnesota. The shoreline is over 40,000 km's, however if you include the shorelines of the14,522 islands located in Lake of the Woods, it is over 104,000 km's!
Lake of the Woods is home to walleye, northern pike, perch, sauger, crappie, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, lake trout, lake sturgeon, whitefish, suckers and muskellunge.

Walleye are sometimes confused with sauger and yellow perch. An easy way to identify walleye is the white tip on the lower tail fin, which both the sauger and yellow perch do not have. Other identifying factors include the sauger having spots on the dorsel fin whereas the walleye does not, and the yellow perch having 6 - 9 dark vertical bars on its sides, whereas the walleye has none.
Walleye are the type of fish we mainly go after.
Above is picture of myself, Karma and a walleye that I caught while fishing in Lake of the Woods. This is an average size walleye for that area.
