Mill Green is one of our favourite areas for picking blackberries in the late summer (the earliest and the biggest berries in the area!). There is a footpath that leads across the fields, emerging on Malthouse Lane near the ford.
A lot of work has been done by Gissing Habitat and Heritage Group over the last couple of years. Excessive brambles have been cut back to provide a circular walk and open up the meadow area, while retaining a variety of habitats for wildlife. A picnic area has been constructed so that locals (and geocachers!) can pause and enjoy this piece of common land. The cache is a bison tube. Please bring your own pen.
