Having enjoyed walking a couple of the loop trails and setting some of our own one-off caches we decided it was time to lay down a series of our own. There seems to be few caches in the Longfield Hill area so that seemed a good place to start. As we started planning we found that not only was there a lack of caches, there was also a lack of footpaths. However, we think we have created a nice walk for you, with equal variety of scenery and of cache styles and types from nano upwards and a few fun ones too.
Some can be completed as cache and dash and there are no parts where you are more than two or three caches from a road. We suggest it is completed in a clockwise direction as that is the way we walked it and the multi's will work far better that way. Alternative parking can be found along the way, although the one we would recommend would be by #13. If you were to start here, there is a handy pub about halfway around for sustenance (near #2).
Other caches you may like to include that are not too far off the main loop are; GC5JCRH 'Wave to the trains - toot, toot', GC5KTDO 'On the run - nearly home! and GC208V2 'Longfield Hill View'.
Birthday cupcakes
Have never liked the big gap on the map between LHL06 and LHL07 so have now decided to fill it with a puzzle. This puzzle can either be picked up as part of the Longfield Hill Loop or as a stand alone C&D but it certainly cannot be found in the middle of this field.
My geobuddy smc loves making cupcakes. She made some for me for my recent birthday and very nice they were too.
I know that I shouldn't play with my food but I just couldn't resist.
This is supposed to be a simple puzzle that hopefully will be blindingly obvious to most people reading this.
The cache is a small plastic box.
