A little less than a year has passed since the start of the Harlingen Geo-Quest so we have added a few more caches starting December 21st. We also have moved some of the containers that have been subject to Muggle tampering. If you are new to the Quest make sure to check our website http://www.myharlingen.us/page/parksandrec.geocachinghome and if you are coming back, thank you and feel free to earn a second coin by finding the new and transplanted caches.
Opened to the public in 2008, the Harlingen Soccer Complex is a completely city funded project. It is home to the Arroyo Youth Soccer Club and the Harlingen Woman's Soccer League. It has a total of 10 soccer fields as well as restrooms, a concession stand, and a playground. On the other side of the Complex is a beautiful pond that is surrounded by a 1.2 mile trail and covered picnic shelters where you can sit and enjoy the birds that frequent the waters.
Stealth is definitely needed on this find due to the location of GZ. Weekends are when most games are played, so if you must look then blending in will be important. Mornings are much quieter, and nice for the walk. While parking is plentiful, this cache is a little way down the trail; closer if you go the way the bird flys. Hopefully we will be getting your thinking caps working.
