2016 Leap Year Celebration Event

If you have ever wanted just ONE MORE DAY of geocaching in a year, here you go....


2016 Souvenir? Maybe


There will be a Special Souvenir for the Leap Year Event. To earn the souvenir you will need to log an "Attended" on a Geocaching Event on February 29th (such as this event). The exact details of the souvenir have not been released yet but HQ did post the celestial picture above. Additionally, Groundspeak is releasing a Second Souvenir to anyone who logs a "Found It" on a Geocache on any of the following days, February 27-29. There may even be a Third Souvenir if you earn the previous two. A trifecta.

Did you know: On Leap Day, women are allowed to propose marriage to men. As tradition goes, if the man refuses the proposal he is obligated to buy a round of margaritas if (and only if) the cantina where the proposal was made, serves them. Step up, ladies!
