A little history – Dora the Explorer is a children’s T.V. show that teaches colours, shapes, language, puzzles and riddles. Dora is a little Hispanic girl who goes on adventures, she carries a talking purple backpack with a talking map inside. She explores with her B.F.F., Boots (a monkey) and always has somewhere to explore. The map helps her plan her travels out. Along the way, she may run into friends…Isa the iguana, Tico the squirrel, Benny the bull, Big Red Chicken, Explorer Stars, Diego (her cousin) and the Grumpy Old Troll (he is a character but not a friend). There is also Swiper, the fox. He’s always trying to steal possessions or get in the way. SO, watch out for Swiper –he might want to steal the cache! To stop him, Dora says “Swiper no swiping”, 3 times. He will then go away, saying “Oh man!”So, if you didn’t know anything about Dora, hope you do now!
This series will take you along rural roads, may be busier in the summer months because of trailer parks in the area. Watch for muggles! Caches are all close to the road and should not be too hard to find. Please return, cover and snap caches closed to make it fun for the next explorers! When you’re a little lost, get out your map (ok, for you…your GPS) and look for your next clue.
You will need a pen/pencil, a nifty tool to retrieve some logs, possible rain or snow boots (depending on the season), possibly snow pants and about an hour to explore.
*They were placed before all the snow fell, so I have gone and rechecked and all are great for winter! Wear tall winter boots!.......you are exploring after all!
#8 GOING ON A TREASURE HUNT: HEY TICO
Dora and Boots are pleasantly surprised when map directs you all to the next cache. Tico the squirrel is there and busy collecting nuts to store for the winter. He did notice something odd hanging…
