There is one special geocache in each of the East Bay Regional Parks properties (except a few that don't allow geocaches.) At the time of this cache placement, the park district encompasses 199,000 acres. Please enjoy all the parks and trails, but please respect the Park rules.
Be sure to stamp your passport with the stamp provided in the geocache. A few blank passports were in the container when the cache was hidden. To be sure of having a passport, download one via Passport To The Parks. In a pinch you can stamp a blank piece of paper and glue it into your passport later. When you completely fill up your Passport, you can redeem it for a special prize. Of course, there is no cost for participating. For further information on the Passport series, see Passport To The Parks
Dublin Hills
The Dublin Hills Passport cache was placed on the 2016 Trails Challenge route for that park. The 4-mile Trails Challenge hike route is noted to have a 946-ft elevation gain. The description of the Trails Challenge hike describes it as “invigorating” but the hike difficulty level is rated as “easy”. You’ll have to judge that bit of inconsistency for yourself. What you can count on is a hike through open grasslands that provides some beautiful views. Watch the skies for soaring hawks; look for deer in the fields. The cache is placed in an open area. Please cover it as best you can.
Park hours: March 13-Nov 5, 8:00am to 7:00pm; Nov 6-Feb 13, 8:00am-4:30pm; Feb 14-Mar 12, 8:00am to 6:00pm. Check the official Dublin Hills web page for the latest information. Please do not enter any "no trespassing" areas.
