Geocache Description:

This Geocache encourages you to experience the landscape of the Scottish North-East.

In his residency at Deveron Arts, composer and musician Aidan O'Rourke walked among many abandoned settlements and spent time with historians, archaeologists and local enthusiasts. He wrote music inspired by these experiences. Aidan O'Rourke was inspired to write a track The Burn of the Shelter based on his experiences there.

The Cabrach is an area that particularly inspired Aidan. The abandoned landscape and buildings left out of use are telling of times of clearance in past generations. The Upper Cabrach School has been empty for years, never restored or returned to use.

Look for this Geocache and find some of these points of interest for yourself!
