Parking
If you are starting at the southern end of Pinetops, park at either Haywards Substation or at the 'Welcome to Upper Hutt' information area on SH2. If you choose to park on SH2, the track starts on the right hand side of the stream halfway between the information area and the fantail sculpture (each of these has an associated cache).
If you are starting at the northern end of Pinetops, park at the Silverstream entrance, immediately north of the Fergusson Drive lights on SH2.
The Cache
This cache is a camouflaged item that would come in handy in a cave. It has room for the log but no pencil. Please make sure the cache is hidden as found before you leave, thanks.
Acknowledgements
Note that these bush tracks have been created by Brian Melbye, a dedicated volunteer who spends many hours working in the reserve. Brian is keen to see as many people on the trails as possible, so Council will continue to maintain them.
