For a Jack of All Trades Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: This cache was adopted, then relocated and replaced without updating the posted co-ordinates creating confusing. Current new coords no longer meet the listing guidelines due to proximity to another cache and this cache is no longer the original cache. I am archiving this listing until it can be brought back within the listing guidelines.

Geocache Description:

This cache is on the Grand River Trail. There is a steep slope, but the path has steps and transverses the slope.

The original cache had a home hardware theme to it, and in honor of the spring renovations happening all over (including in our basement and back yard) and the original owner of the cache, the title remains - though it has nothing to do with the actual cache now.

Since being renewed, we moved the cache a significant distance away to a location that makes the most of the beautiful trail and the nearby waterfront. This cache can be easily done while canoeing the river (or fly-fishing), or by hiking the trail. When logging the cache, please specify which approach you used!

If hiking, please exercise caution as the slopes can be slippery in wet or cold weather (I probably wouldn't even try it if there is ice on the trail). An added caution is that there is rusty metal and barbed wire near the cache, please watch your step. The trail can be a little muddy in parts, but nothing you can't walk around. At the most difficult times, this cache could be a 4-4.5 terrain, and at the easiest it may be a 2.5-3, so it's a 3.5 now.

No matter which method you use, the cache is in a beautiful meadow with the peaceful sound of a nearby babbling brook. Different container and very different location could have justified a new cache, but the trail is just as fun and nice.

Meadow of Grass by David Anthony (visit link)

I lie here in this meadow of grass
Counting clouds as they pass
Day dreaming without a care
The soft wind blowing through my hair
The warm sun feels good on my bare skin
I wish this feeling would never end
But soon the dark clouds reappear
Bringing back all my fears
To never feel the warmth of her hand
To never see her beauty again
To only know her leaving words
To only remember those piercing swords
To never feel her gift of love
To never be her only one
The rain pours down on me all around
Drowning out all the sounds
No birds' songs no crickets' chirps
No way to avoid all this hurt
I want to run but cannot move
My body feels the overwhelming blue
Then a rainbow shows through the lightning and rain
To remind me soon there will be no more pain
The sun comes again as the dark clouds pass
And my dreams return in this meadow of grass
