This months meet and greet is tied in with one of the largest sporting events of this time of year in the United States. Basketball, brackets, and DUNKS. Be prepared for a few hours of fun times mixed in with a little (very little) excercise, voting, and some food.
-The event will start at 6pm and wrap up at 8pm.
-This is a potluck meal. A dish is not required to attend but if you plan to eat please help in providing a dish for us all to share. We would like the dish to be something themed like basketball, that can be DUNKED! I have never DUNKED a ball so why not go for the next best thing and DUNK some food! The idea of a dip or a DUNK is just a neat idea and not a requirement. The host will be bringing chicken wings and boneless wings so you to can DUNK into your favorite dressing!
-Some ideas for things we could use but I hope you use your imagination. Anything is welcomed for the potluck.
-Chips/Salsa
-Veggie tray with a DUNKING dip.
-Meat tray with DUNKING mustards and dips
-Chili with fritos for the DUNKING
-Cookies and frosting for the DUNK
-Strawberries and choclate or apples and carmel to be DUNKED
-Donuts to be DUNKED into coffee
-Crackers to be DUNKED into a cheeseball
Please put what you are bringing if you are in your "will attend" so we know we will have enough for everyone. There are great ideas for this theme if you search the internet. You are responsible for any special utensils your dish requires. The general stuff like plates, napkins, and silverware will be there.
Agenda:
6pm to 6:30pm- Sign in and get your bracket sheet (5 points for each correct bracket 1 winner, 10 points for each correct bracket 2 winner, 20 points for each bracket 3 winner, 50 points for each bracket 4 winner (champion). Start filling this in right away so we can start the game. The brackets will be geocaching themed. More on this to come at a later time. Start the eating of the great food supplied by our friends and family.
6:30pm to 6:45pm- Turn all bracket sheets into Ironhorse4 .
6:45pm to 7:15pm- Round 1 of the tourney. This will take you having some basketball accuracy to pick the round winners you want. The goal we are using is kid friendly, old person friendly, and wheelchair accessible. Please see the picture below. Along with the shooting round please continue DUNKING your favorite foods. The basketball goal does not allow for DUNKS. We will be paired up and the most made shots of each pairing gets to pick the geocaching themed bracket winner of their choice for round 1.
7:15pm to 7:45pm- The winners of rounds 2-4 will be decided by a majority vote from all attendees. See round scoring above. Start helping with the clean up process.
7:45pm to 8:00pm- The winner will be announced and an award provided. Please do not bring door prizes. This is a competition all be it a friendly one.
