Geocache Description:

Sunday March 6th 2016

10.30am to 2.00pm

This is my first attempt at organising a CITO event. I know it's Mother's Day but please come along and help plant some small tree/bushes. An additional/alternative litter pick can be arranged around parts of the site if you prefer.

At Moore there is a 200-acre nature reserve open at all times to the general public. Free parking and entry. It is lovely place where both myself and Netty do volunteer work on Tuesdays. The warden Annemarie has previously given me kind permission to set various caches around the site and there are also other caches there if you haven't already got them all, you may wish to explore more of the site looking for these. There are quite a few other caches not too far away outside the site. The Warden Annemarie welcomes you to enjoy the area and has a lot of "Cachers favourite bushes" to plant and will be extremely grateful for your help to do this. The tree/bushes are small Gorse and easy to plant. This will be in an area not open to the public. The trees/bushes will grow to create and attract habitats for a variety of insects and birds.
If you prefer, any children  not to handle these small bushes there can be a litter pick walk around the site arranged.
Meet at the car park between 10,00am and 10.30am for the necessary admin for health and safety etc forms. A short talk by our Warden Annemarie about what is required and how to do it. If you have your own Work Gloves please bring them and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Urnie will be making an appearance and I thank Jan and Phil for their kindness in agreeing to do this. Please support them well

Sadly due to the terrain, while wheelchairs have access to some of the roads and paths they will not be able to get to the work area. Likewise buggies may struggle and terrain is not suitable in the work area.
Dogs are allowed in the reserve but other than the car park and dog field adjacent, they must be on a lead at all times. Unfortunately, they will not be allowed in the work area.
How to get here - M56 junction 11 take the A56 to Warrington. After the "Toast Rack" bridge turn left onto Runcorn Road then later turn right into Moore Lane as you enter the village. Follow this road and just over the Manchester ship canal you will see the Nature reserve sign and car park or alternative parking area. If travelling through Warrington head out on the A56 along the duel carriageway staying in the right hand lane as you approach the traffic lights just after the Walton arms. Turn right into Runcorn Road then when entering  Moore village turn right into Moore lane and follow down to over the Manchester ship canal where you will see the Nature reserve sign and car park.
