Achtergrond
[NL] Geocachen en de Harry Potter-reeks maakten in dezelfde jaren hun opmars. Dit is onder andere terug te zien in het gebruik van het woord ‘dreuzels’, dat binnen de Harry Potter-reeks verwijst naar mensen die onbekend zijn met magie en vervolgens door geocachers is toegekend aan hen die onbekend zijn met het fenomeen geocachen. Deze cache zal ingaan op een ander aspect uit de Harry Potter-wereld, namelijk de Delfstoffer, een van de vele fabeldieren.
Hoewel de Delfstoffer binnen de zevendelige Harry Potter-reeks slechts kort in het vierde en vijfde boek opduikt, is een uitgebreidere beschrijving van het wezen te vinden in het boek ‘Fabeldieren en Waar Ze Te Vinden’, dat hieronder geciteerd wordt. Voornamelijk het beschreven gedrag zal de gemiddelde geocacher niet onbekend voorkomen..
“Delfstoffer
De Delfstoffer komt uitsluitend in Groot-Brittannië voor. Dit gravende dier is pluizig en zwart, met een lange snuit, en heeft een voorkeur voor alles wat glittert. Delfstoffers worden vaak gebruikt door Kobolden om diep onder de grond naar verborgen schatten te zoeken. De Delfstoffer is weliswaar zachtaardig en zelfs liefhebbend van aard, maar kan toch grote schade veroorzaken aan gebouwen en mag daarom nooit in huis gehouden worden. Delfstoffers leven in holen die zich soms wel zes meter onder de grond bevinden en krijgen zes tot acht jongen per keer.”

Het zojuist genoemde boek zal overigens centraal staan in de gelijknamige filmtrilogie, waarvan het eerste deel 18 november 2016 op het witte doek verschijnt. Het tweede en derde deel staan gepland voor respectievelijk 2018 en 2020.

[NL] Delfstoffers hebben de lastige eigenschap naar schatten te zoeken en deze mee nemen naar hun hol. Deze cache heeft eenzelfde lot moeten ondergaan. Nu is het tovenaars gelukt om het wezentje tot aan de Sering te volgen. Vanaf hier raken ze telkens het spoor bijster. Na de grond grondig te hebben onderzocht, hebben de tovenaars vast moeten stellen dat dit exemplaar zich niet op grondniveau schuil houdt..

Background
[EN] Geocaching and the Harry Potter series made their advance in the same years.
