Playing in Kai Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheCur8or: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Kaitangata is known for it's coal mining, and the historical mining accident of 1879 when 34 men died. http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/kaitangata-mining-disaster

The area is still mined and the township refers to itself as the "Black Gold Town".

The Kaitangata Playcentre was opened in 1968 and closed in 2013 and the property is now privately owned.

This is a quick park and grab cache. The bike track across the road can be busy so you'll need to be careful not be seen. Please ensure the cache is not visible when you put it back.

You are looking for a 200ml green and black container with a log book, pencil, and some small swaps.

The owner has given permission for this cache to be on the property but please do not enter the playcentre playground (fenced area) as it is now privately owned.
