Leave No Trace Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

YukonShadow: Well, Leave No Trace actually left no trace. We had hope as we drove up the road to the parking area that this cache might have survived the Caldor fire and if it had been just a few yards away it might have. Pockets survived here and there but we could not find any trace of the cache though it is possible that someone just took it as ammo cans can survive fires. We decided not to replace it as we don't have any metal ammo boxes now but we may place another one in the area next time we make the drive. It had a decent run but time to let it go.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is a summer time cache as the nice paved road to it is not plowed during the winter unless Hwy 50 is closed by a slide, etc. Turn off MIT at N38 42.062, W120 22.279. Overall difficulty is 1.5 only because it is a longish drive from anywhere, but a very short walk from parking spot at N38 42.605, W120 21.335, on dirt road and a shorter walk off road to cache.

Please do not put in any food items for man or beast or even any smelly non-food items like lip balm, bubble bath and the like. Thank you.

Enjoy the view! It's a good one.

Ammo container.
