"Changing the world starts by changing your own little corner of it."
According to the Earth Day website: "We are now entering the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action." It's all about caring for our environment and keeping it safe and clean, or in this case keeping our parks clean! We hope you can join in on the 46th anniversary of earth day by helping to pick up trash throughout Sheridan Park with provided trash bags. (Please bring your own gloves, if desired.) We will also have a limited number of designated areas in the park for those who prefer assigned areas.
There will be a brief raffle with several items at the conclusion of the event, including a copy of the popular new 302 page book, "How to Puzzle Cache," written by Cully Long.
We will have water and snacks. If you would like to bring a snack or beverage to share, that would be wonderful.
There are a number of existing caches that are available at or near the park. To keep with the CITO theme and intention, our focus for this event will be on trash pick up.
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
Each person who logs an “Attended” for a CITO event on April 23 or April 24 this year earns a 2016 CITO souvenir for their Geocaching profile.
