Years ago I was going to do a series of caches on unusual local trees, but never got around to it. I don't know if I'll do any others now, but at least this is a step in the right direction. These are cork oak trees, from which corks for wine bottles and other uses are made. The cork is harvested without damaging the tree, so it's sustainable.
