A micro cache located part way down Ngunguru Ford Road, a short detour off Ngunguru Road on the way to the beautiful Tutukaka Coast. This cache is a replacement cache for V1, which was muggled, it is a new hide in a new spot.
The cache is located at the start of the Mackerel Forest Track, a forestry road that forms part of the Whangarei Coastal Walkway and the Te Araroa Trail. Easiest way to access the cache is to walk up the road a very short distance, then follow a trail along to the sign (which is usually obscured by scrub.)
You will need to bring a pen and maybe a fishing rod!
