Geocache Description:

Whoa! 2016 is a Leap Year! That means one EXTRA day of Geocaching in 2016. Come help Hub City Cachers celebrate this momentous occasion by attending our event at Georgia Blue beginning at 6:00 p.m.! We have the patio all to ourselves; don't worry, it's closed in and heated/cooled, which makes it the perfect venue for us.

So, what do you get by attending this event? For one, you get a smiley just like you found a Geocache, so there's that. Georgia Blue has fantastic grub, so you won't leave hungry (or thirsty!). And you get to visit with other Geocachers like yourself, sharing stories, picking up tips and tricks (and maybe some hints!), trading swag/trackables, etc.

And since this only happens every four years (roughly), Groundspeak/Geocaching.com is celebrating with a souvenir — actually, make that two! The first souvenir can only be earned on Leap Day itself — February 29 — by attending a geocaching event. Hint hint! The other souvenir can be earned all weekend long (February 27-29) by getting outside and finding a geocache. Sounds exciting!

But we're going even bigger! Since the next Leap Year/Day is FOUR WHOLE YEARS AWAY, we're going to hide a time capsule that we won't uncover until the next Leap Day event! That's right. Bring a favorite item or two, Geocaching or not, and contribute to our time capsule. We'll be using a large ammo can (obviously!) for the time capsule, so please keep that in mind when choosing your item, so we can make sure it fits. We have a great idea on what to do once the thing is stocked, but you'll need to attend the event to hear the plan. Nudge, nudge.
