Geocache Description:

A Letterbox Hybrid cache situated at the ruins of a long demolished structure, which affords a spectacular view of Mt. Nittany and the surrounding area.

Ahh Scruffy, the ever faithful, ever lazy janitor of Futurama's Planet Express. His job is toilets 'n boilers, boilers 'n toilets. Plus that one boilin' toilet. He knows how to make sangria in prison, and that no one ever chooses the walrus. It's therefore very fitting that this cache is placed at a place of relaxation and sightseeing, where he can sit down, relax, and do what he does best: Nothing.

This cache is placed just above the ruins of a long collapsed farm building that dates as far back as the 1864 Pomeroy Atlas of Centre County. The original approach is long gone under farm fields and woods, but a gravel road now connects to the spot from a convenient parking spot along Rock road.

Salvaged from the ruined old building is a massive wooden beam that's been propped up to make a bench, and from here you have a magnificent view of Mt. Nittany. If you like peaceful walks, striking views, or just being lazy like Scruffy, this is a place to visit. It would also be good if you like exploring collapsed wooden junkpiles, but there is NO NEED to enter any of the rubble near ground zero. The cache is at Scruffy's Sittin' Spot.

This is a Letterbox Hybrid cache, with a stamp honoring my favorite zombie janitor inside. It's a rather sizable 'small' container, and shouldn't be too hard to find, but there is little room inside for trade items as the stamp, ink, and stamp pad take up more than half of the cache space. Please do NOT take any of the stamping items.

Important Stuff: This cache is located on Penn State agricultural lands that are open to the public year-round. Parking can be found at any of the three listed spots, with the easiest approach being from the Rock North location. There is place enough for 5-6 cars at this location and a well maintained gravel road that runs the perimeter of the airport that will get you half-way to the cache. There's confusing signage at this location (see my attached pic for clarification) but be assured that the cache, parking, and approach are all on public, freely accessible land. Just don't try to climb any fences and you'll be ok. Also, wear orange if you seek this during hunting season!
