Hull Street Road.
Hull. Street. Road.
Hull. Street Road?
What exactly is a Street Road? Is a Street Road different from either a Street or a Road?
Since moving to Richmond, I’ve wondered why US-360 through Chesterfield County is called Hull “Street Road” but the official answer has eluded me. I’ve heard several entertaining theories though. One of my favorites contends that “Streets” are for cities and rural counties have “Roads” and “Lanes”….and a “Street” has no business being way out in the (way back then) rural countryside of Chesterfield County without the proper guidance of a good ol' country "Road".
And since that road led directly to the Hull Street (Train) Station just south of the James River, over time it simply became the Road that led to Hull Street Station.
The Road to Hull Street Station.
The Hull Street Station Road (then Hull Street Station closes).
Hull Street Road.
Just a theory (I didn't say it was a good one). Just something to ponder while searching for this smallish, well camo'd cache. Park-n-Grab....maybe, maybe not. Enjoy. As always, please re-hide as found or better and use your best stealth. Congrats to KWrightVA on the FTF.
