This is a CITO Event, timed to coincide with the first CITO week of 2016.
Dear (insert Geocaching name here)
You are invited to a CITO event on the South side of Brisbane in the Suburb of Carindale. CITO ( Cache In Trash Out) is the way geocachers give back and is a great way to improve our playing field by being active in cleaning up parks, waterways and generally as we go along on our adventures.
Monarchs Dual invite you to Attend their first CITO, a social and fun afternoon with an emphasise on picking up trash and cleaning up. A CITO Event is great chance to meet some fellow Geocachers and catch up with friends all whilst contributing to the health of the planet. We hope that you can join us to help clean up this park and creek as well as experience the good vibes that come from giving back.
When: 1200 - 1530 on the 16th of April 2016. Event will conclude at 1530 with last collections in at 1515 so we can make the waste transfer station before it closes.
Where: 163 Meadowlands Rd, Carindale QLD 4152, Australia or follow the posted coordinates for parking. Meeting place will be near the playground under a Gazebo.
Activities/Facilities: This Park is quite large and the plan is to comb the creek and bush for trash with collection being back at the meeting point. This park adjoins another by a bikeway and if time/ numbers allow we can get over there cleaned up too. We will provide garbage bags and trash removal. We may even have a few pairs of gloves free if you forget yours and we will put on a rubbish scavenger hunt with prizes at the end to keep things interesting for both kids and adults.
What to Bring: Gloves and Hat, Water and snacks. A desire to pick up rubbish and any conscripts *cough* we mean volunteers (family, friends, wildlife warriors ect.).
RSVP: Post an Attend log to let us know you're coming or just stop in on the day to help out. If you arrive late or early someone will be around at meeting point to direct and coordinate.
Optional Extras: If there are any Geocachers who wish to bring along watercraft and have experience in creeks we would encourage them to do so.
We look forward to seeing you all there for the funniest day cleaning a Geocacher can ever have.
Kind Regards
Dirk and Kate ( Monarchs Dual)
