Jumpertown, MS is a small town in Prentiss County just Northwest of Boonville, MS on Highway 4 that covers approximately 1.8 square miles. I'm not sure why it is called Jumpertown, but I know this, both the population and incomes of Jumpertown have "jumped" considerably in the last decade. The population grew by 27% (the state average is 4.91% and the national average is 11.61% ) and the median household income jumped up 83.4% (state and national averages are 26% and 27% respectively). Also of note, there was a civil war skirmish in Jumpertown on November 5, 1862.
