A quick 'Cache & Go' on the way to the Ferry. With easy parking this is a nice destraction if you have 5 spare minutes.
Binstead is a small village on the edge of Ryde where it is easy to miss the bridge that divides the two. First recorded in the Domesday book in 1086 as Benestede, its history surrounds the quarrying of limestone which was used to build the original Quarr Abbay which was destroyed by Henry VIII. There is a very popular walk from the Geocache location down Church Road to Quarr Abbey which eventually ends at Fishbourne taking in some nice views and history. Enjoy!
