Geocache Description:

Howdy friends! It's been a long time since Oxbow has hosted a geocaching event, (since April 2009 actually! GC1NAFN). I, the venerable geojibby, will be facilitating it. I've had in my possession a Duck Dynasty Talking Duck travel bug for quite some time that needs to go! It's an event cache TB so someone please:

COME GET THIS DUCK!

The posted coordinates will take you to the Expressway Family Centre (223 Main Street Oxbow, SK), our free community programming location in Oxbow, SK. There is free parking available at the event cache site and washrooms are available as well. Unfortunately the site is not wheelchair accessible.

This event will start at 1PM, run until 2PM or so and include a 1/2 hour(ish) welcome presentation for new geocachers, to introduce geocaching. We will talk about all the basics to get started in geocaching from concepts to gear. Experienced cachers are invited to come by as well and show geocoin collections, Travel Bugs, and answer questions. Several new caches will be placed for the event, as well as some newly minted custom Travel Bugs and custom made swag up for grabs.

UPDATE! We also have prize pack sponsorship from our good friends at LandSharkz.ca! There will be oodles of door prizes up for grabs as well from gift certificates to super fun geoswag!

It will be a metric tonne of fun! See you there!
