In celebration of Indiana’s 2016 Bicentennial, 15 geocaches have been placed throughout St. Joseph County near historic sites or places of interest. It is our goal to highlight interesting areas in the county, as well as to introduce new cachers to the hobby.
This beautiful park, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1936 as one of the many New Deal Work Progress Administration (WPA) projects around the country. Much of the stonework, a fire pit, and a cobblestone bench were cleaned and rebuilt recently and additional work is planned to complete the restoration and preservation of the great craftsmanship of the WPA stone masons. Take time to view the stonework throughout the park, enjoy all the great playground equipment, have a picnic in one of the shelters, or take in a baseball game in the ball diamond!
