The parish church, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, was built in the 14th Century and restored in 1866. This modest sandstone medieval church is a Grade I listed building for its generally unrestored appearance and surviving medieval roofs to nave and chancel. There is also a scheduled monument nearby. Thruxton Tump, a Motte Castle is located at the adjacent Thruxton Court that is not open to the public since it is part of a working farm.
There is parking for one car almost right next to the cache. Please park considerately of the local residents and bear in mind the large agricultural vehicles that require access to the Court.
Please bring your own pen and tweezers.
