Park at the Charlie Elliott Visitors Center and walk to the posted coordinates. At the posted coordinates you will find a post. You will be looking for posts similar to this one as you hike the red trail. Your task is to continue walking the red trail and finding each post in sequence. As you come to each post, record the common name of tree on the lines below. Some posts will not be used, I give you those posts as reference to make sure you have found all the tree id posts in sequence. I also give you several others as an example of how the cache will work.

To calculate the final coordinates count the number of letters in each common name. Only count letters in the name, not spaces in compound names. Use that number to calculate the final coordinates.
For example, from the given names above:
b. sweetgum therefore b= 8
And
q. Willow Oak therefore q=9
Once you find the final, look closely at the hide location. It is not every day you see something like this! The coordinates for the final cache are:
__ __ __ __ . __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ . __ __ __
R R S N.T T T U P R V R . N N W
R=f-j
S=o-m
T=e-d
U=b-l
V=k-p
W=i-n
