Villa Roma Traditional Cache

Una piccola Villa antica di Piazza Armerina, da piccolo ci andavo con i genitori e i nonni. Molto tranquilla, contiene anche una fontana in pietra e una fontanella per l'acqua. Si gode di bei panorami e della vista della Cattedrale.

A nice old garden of Piazza Armerina, when I was a kid I was used to go there with my parents. Very quiet, there is also a handmade-stone fountain and a fountain of drinking-water. Nice views from here, especially the Cathedral of Piazza Armerina.

La villa si trova lungo la Via Roma, che vi porterà dritti nel centro storico e poi su fino alla Cattedrale (dove un'altra cache vi aspetta!). Questa strada in passato er apiena di botteghe di fabbri, per questo era chiamata "a f'rraria".

Adesso la villa si chiama Villa Ciancio, perchè intitolata al generale del XIII Corpo d'Armata della I Guerra Mondiale, il piazzese Giuseppe Ciancio (1858-1932), ma negli anni '20 era chiamata Villetta Francesco Crispi. Prima dell'intitolazione al generale era chiamata Giardino delle Rose, oltre che, comunemente, Villa Roma perché si estende lungo la via Roma.

The Villa is along the "Via Roma", that will bring you right to the historical centre and then up to the Cathedral (where another cache is waiting for you!). In the past this road was full of blacksmiths, for this reasons it was called "a f'rraria".

Now the Villa is named after the General Ciancio (from Piazza Armerina) who was the general of the XIII army corp during I WW. Before this intutulation, it was called "the garden of roses", or, like today, Villa Roma.
