"Big Five Safari" is a series of caches named after African animals, with the final goal of finding the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, Elephant and Rhinoceros). There are 50 caches in the series, 45 traditional and 5 mystery. Clues for the five mystery caches (the Big Five), are hidden amongst the series. Of course, the Lion (King of beasts), is the hardest to find....You will need to find the four other Big Five first...
The 45 traditional caches are all micros or small L&L and for the most part, are winter friendly and easy to find. The Big Five are regular caches. No need to cross any fences, and the majority of the caches are park and grab!
The Nyala is a spiral-horned and middle-sized antelope, between a bushbuck and a kudu. The coat is rusty or rufous brown in females and juveniles, but it grows a dark brown or slate grey in adult males, often with a bluish tinge. Other markings are visible on the face, throat, flanks and thighs. Stripes are much reduced or absent in older males. Both males and females have a white chevron between their eyes, and a long bushy tail white underside. Only the males have horns, which have one or two twists. See related web page.
Good Luck and Enjoy your Safari!!!!
P.S. Caution should be taken in approaching any of these animals. Be careful with the terrain at all times....
Congratulations to NurseB33 and Gate Keeper for the FTF!!!!
