Dr Johnson Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a part of Tooting common that marks the boundaries of Streatham and Tooting Parishes. There used to be a small stream running through this spot called Falcon Brook.

Dr Samuel Johnson was an English writer who is remembered as a renowned poet, essayist, moralist, literary critic, biographer, editor and lexicographer. Dr Johnson is said to have walked here from Streatham Place while visiting British diarist and patron of the arts, Hester Thrale, when this was just a country path.

The route, was once lined with impressive Elm trees. There are now many Oak and chestnuts to be found on parts of Tooting commom - some playing a prominent role in geocahe games...
