This small area of woodland is called Little Oak Wood, and brings back many fond memories playing with family and friends growing up.
When I was a boy, my dad used to tell me a story that thieves stole a safe from the nearby Belton Woods Hotel, and brought it to this location to blow it open. He used to tell me that if I searched the surrounding area, I might find some long forgotten coins or jewels. Of course, I never could find anything, but then again, I never did look very hard!
I did always wonder though: What if the thieves never managed to get into the safe at all?
You are looking for what I could never find, please exercise reasonable caution while looking for this one, if you find yourself lifting something heavy, than you're doing it wrong!.
