Geocache Description:

I dropped NWA's first letterbox....somewhere.

Like a real letterbox you have clues to take you to GZ, the clues are meant to be vague and this cache is not meant to be found by new or average hunters. However because this is a hybrid letterbox, there is a puzzle on this page that will take you straight to the end if you can figure it out.  This hybrid is meant to be a challenge, not easy to find.  Thus the 5/5 rating.  I will NOT give out hints or clues to this cache, you must rely on what is given or if you are lucky enough a clue from someone that has found it.  There is no traditional swag in this letter box, it only has postcards, an ink pad, stamp and log book.  To maintain the spirit of a true letter box please consider bringing a few post cards of your own, a few to give as swag and a few to have mailed to yourself. (don't forget the stamp). If you see a post card you like take one, and if you see one waiting to be mailed, write a quick blurb and mail it off. THIS IS ONLY AN OPTION and is not additional logging requirements.

As usual, use the rubber stamp in the box to stamp in your album, and use your stamp to stamp in the log book.  DO NOT TAKE MY STAMP AS SWAG.  I do have an ink pad provided, but extreme weather can dry them out...so it's always best to bring one of your own.  Good luck my friends I hope you enjoy my first Letter Box  ~CnD

Dead Running.

As I sat one day working on a field puzzle a crazy old man that smelled of rum and looked of death sat next to me. He noticed with amusement that I was working on a treasure map and started telling me about an adventure he went on long ago.   He spoke of a treasure with such oddity, and curiosity that I had to go try and find it on my own. He told me it was a fools adventure impossible to find. I insisted and with a few coins and a bottle of rum he agreed to give me his map. "This will take a bit of your time" he said, unsure if he really wanted to give me the clues, "It will surely drive you mad" he warned once again. I nodded and so he removed his old hat and hidden inside was a faded old map. He handed it to me and wished me luck. Clambering back up to his feet a bit unsteady but dedicated to his cause, this strange fellow took to his new bottle and staggered away singing an old sea shanty of treasures untold.

The map had me start here at this park and made some rather odd requests, quickly grabbing my bearings I followed course and headed east 43 meters to which it asked me to Continue onto B St 160 meters. There I found a ship the famed ship the Burgundy Rose and was determined to hire her captain Cloak.n.Dagger. He let out a hearty laugh as I told him the story about how I came into possession of my recently acquired treasure map. He asked if a monkey sat on the shoulder of the maps previous owner. After telling him that I hadn't noticed, he frowned, looking me boldly in the face, he slapped me on my shoulder and told me to go talk to another Captain. He told me he was looking for the Monkey King. Warned me that his time was precious and he should not be trifled with, especially with foolish notions of lost treasure such as my map suggested. But like all pirates, with enough coin and a promise of a share of the loot he agreed to grant me voyage. He pointed at you and barked his orders to take the wheel. You looked a bit bewildered and had a half crooked smile. Your eyes burned for adventure and you had the look of a well travelled pirate. I asked "Have you found any treasure in your many adventures", where after a short pause you pointed at the wheel and said "this be all the treasure I be needing". Pointing to the wheel, salty sea air, wind on my back, a tall ship..... "And a star to steer her by" I added with a cheese grin. "Nay lad, a good compass is all I need" looking down I see what looks like coordinates "What does OC51CB mean" I asked. "On Course 51 Compass Bearing" you answered. Just then Captain ordered the first set of directions: Turn port and travel 110 m. Soon we were on our way on an epic journey into the unknown. t The following commands are to lead you and I to our treasure. May King Triton be in a friendly type mood while the wind at our back take us on the safe journeys.

These are the rest of the directions commanded by our Captain. As you reach each destination be sure to take careful study of port and starboard, as one false step could take you far from your treasure.

Turn port and travel 3.2 km, Turn starboard and travel 450 m then Stagger slightly starboard and make your way 1.0 km, Continue another 350 m, Turn starboard and travel 1.6 km, Turn port and go 1.3 km Continue for another 650 m, Turn starboard go 36 m, Turn port go 38 m, Slight starboard for 1.6 km, Turn port and go 350 m, Turn starboard and travel 4.1 km, Turn port and head 1.3 km, head port and go 160 m, Turn port ye treasure will be on the right 300 m
