Update 2022: It is no longer possible to reach the cache via the origina track. At way point Via 3 there is now a sign about private property and you need to continue the dirt road to find an laternative way to Via 4 without going through the crops. This may even be impossible, making this cache an even bigger challenge.
As I'm not longer living in Italy, I'm unable to visit the cache and review the track, but as there are so few caches in the area and the church being quite special, I don't want to archieve this one just yet.
So for the hardcore cachers: Please give this one a try and let me know if it is still accessable without breaking any rules.

[EN] The cache is located in what was once a stone church. It might just be fantasy, but to me this looks much more how Matera may have looked several centuries ago. Hiking to the cache is like travelling through time.

[EN] To get to this cache, follow the waypoints that are included in this listing. The one-way trail is 2 km long. From the parking waypoint, follow the dirt road around the field. When you get to the water, you'll see a concrete bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the first road up the hill. A little further up the track, you'll see a Y-junction. Follow the left leg along the field. At the next intersection, make a right turn. You'll walk now parallel to the hill. When you get to end of the track, make a right turn, climbing again. Continue on the track until you'll get to the indicated waypoint. You'll leave the track and you'll find the church in a few minutes.

Quando arrivate al fiume vedrete un ponte. Passate il ponte e seguite il primo sentiero in salita. Un poco più su, sul sentiero, vedrete un incrocio a Y. Seguite il sentiero a sinistra lungo il campo. Al prossimo incrocio fate a destra. Camminerete parallelamente alla collina. Quando arrivate alla fine del sentiero girate a destra, salendo. Continuate fino quando arrivate al waypoint indicato. Lasciate il sentiero e troverete la chiesa in pochi minuti.
[EN] The cache is hidden at the entrance of an old church. It is easy to see that the builders have put in quite a bit of efforts in the details. In the back of the of the church is the altar, all made from the 1 piece of rocks. The cache is located in the corner, under a few rocks. Please keep the cache well hidden so it will not be found by accident. See spoiler if the description it not enough.

[EN] Also note the pictures linked to this listing. This is what you can expect while hiking to the cache. After finding the cache, you can follow the narrow track and you can discover many old caves houses. You can follow one of several small track and eventually you'll get back to the same track you were on, well before reaching waypoint "Via 5". Along the way, you'll get some great view down the gorge as well as a good view on several rock houses and an old church across the gorge. When you get to waypoint Via 5, you can follow the way you came or may opt to take a direct route to waypoint "Via 2".
