Mitsukuni's Birthplace
Tokugawa Mitsukuni is known as a "Mito Komon". He is a hero of a famous historical drama. Actually, he was the Vice Shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate. He was born in here not in the Mito castle. The birthplace becomes the Mito Komon shrine currently.

のちに天下の副将軍として名をはせる水戸藩主の徳川光圀公ですが、いろいろありまして生まれたのは水戸城ではなく、ここにあった家臣の屋敷でした。現在、生誕の地は水戸黄門神社になっております。訪れた際にはお参りしましょう。
