This cache is located just off a cleared path, which is actually an old road, tucked in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Take exit 248 off I-84, and follow the signs to the Oregon Trail Visitor's Center. You can drive with most vehicles to within .10 of a mile of the cache.
The Blue Mountain Crossing is the actual trail taken by thousands of pioneers seeking a new land between 1830 and 1860. See the actual ruts made by their wagons, and experience the Blues just as they did.
The cache is located outside the interpretive center and trails, since there is a small fee to enter the park. But there's no fee to enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest, maybe even catch sight of deer, elk, or other wildlife. After you've enjoyed the cache, go to this virtual cache site at coordinates: 45 degrees, 23.883N, 118 degrees, 18.931W.
Original contents of the cache include:
rubber ducky, small box of matches, smiley face air freshener, small package of tissues, breath mints, a unique wood burl keychain, handmade by Treasure Hunter, and Disappearing Spot travel bug.
