Geocache Description:

This area surrounding you is part of the South Fork San Jacinto Wilderness.

The United States Congress designated the South Fork San Jacinto Wilderness in 2009 and it now has a total of 20,217 acres.

The South Fork San Jacinto Wilderness contains lush groves of big-cone Douglas fir, willow, and cottonwood. The rich streamside woodlands are a popular hiking destination, and home to mountain lion, mule deer, mountain quail, southern spotted owl, and bald eagle.

USFS Road 5S15 is a popular road to get to the two separate peaks in this area that are listed in the Sierra Club's 100 Peaks Section.  This road does cut through the wilderness area so driving off of 5S15 is strictly forbidden.  Any activity in a motorized vehicle is limited to the roadway.  There are places to pullover at each cache location all the way to 22 Miles of Truck Trail.  All caches along this route are not in the wilderness area and placement has been verified by wilderness map overlays.  This road is a truck trail and high clearance 2 wheel drive is recommended.  The road begins below 2000' and climbs to well over 5000' so please be observant to weather conditions.  As with any cache in areas like this, there are hazards.  Pay attention to your surroundings.
