Geocache Description:

This is a simple park-and-grab near Shady Grove Creek.

Shady Grove Creek is part of the Deer Creek Watershed, and the waters here flow into the River des Peres and then on to the Mississippi River. Upstream of this spot, the creek passes through Larson Park, which is a nice place for a picnic or playing in the playground.

Shady Grove Creek is usually an extremely calm stream, but it can be susceptible to flash flooding after heavy rains. For example, when the remnants of Hurricane Ike swept through in 2008, the entire intersection of Kirkham and Rock Hill was flooded, making the house on the southeast corner of the intersection an island.

There is no legal parking right by this cache, but street parking is available to the north and east of the intersection of Kirkham and Rock Hill (just to the north of the cache).

This is the first cache we placed. Good luck! This is a small cache, but there's just enough room for a tiny bit of swag, and we are seeding it.

Congrats to moosefinders for FTF! Bring your own pen.
