Geocache Description:

Davidson Cemetery is located close to Coffee Bluff on the South side of the Tennessee river. The Cemetery dates  back to the early 1800's and may contain some of Andrew Jackson's troops  (in the several dozen of un-marked graves) who were gathering and preparing to march south for the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. The oldest known marked grave at this time is 1845. We know for sure that there is at least 1 WWI, 1 WWII, and 1 Vietnam vet buried there. We have also been told that there is a Buffalo Soldier buried there, but we are still working on that.

We are working on confirming some of this information and hope to have a historical marker placed here.  We have already started a clean up there, both picking up trash and clearing the cemetery. My son (The_Rebel) is working on his eagle project here.  The more we clear the more we find in old bottles and cans. Several old tires need to be removed yet. A historical location like this needs to be helped.  The event will start at 9 A.M. and end at 2 P.M. We will be serving lunch for all volunteers.  If  you can't make it for the entire time, we will be glad just to see you there.

I will be bringing garbage bags for all, If you happen to have a chain saw or gas powered leaf blower, bring it along. The more leaves we have moved the more trash we find. Also branch trimmers and gloves

My plans are to also have two or three new caches  placed and giving all cachers there, first crack at them.

If you have any questions just let me know.
