Geocache Description:

I absolutely love this beautiful little spot along Shore Rd, with a gorgeous view of Mt. Sinai Harbor.  There's always bound to be some species of bird enjoying the water and searching for a meal in the harbor, whether it be swans, geese, seagulls, or my personal favorite, the swallows.  I've spent a lot of time sitting here, some of that time during rainstorms and that is when the frolicsome dance of the graceful swallow ensues.  I love watching them swiftly glide through the air, often in the motion of a figure 8, touching briefly on the surface of the water and then soaring back through the sky again.  I'd love for fellow geocachers to come here to enjoy the scenic view, and have some fun finding a cache as well.  You're looking for a small camo'd snapware container, with a logbook and a small assortment of loot to start with.  Please be careful when attempting to find this cache!!  It is hidden on the side of a hill which doesn't look that steep, but can be a slippery climb.  The cache is not hidden very far up the side of the hill, but still, please use caution!  I don't know if I'd recommend searching for this one during a rainstorm or too soon after, when the ground will be wet and even more slippery.  When facing the "Habitats of Mt. Sinai Harbor" sign, the location of the cache is to the left-hand side.  Please replace the cache as found, being sure it is secure and will not slide down the side of the hill.  I hope you enjoy this hide!!
