The 90's

The decade that was The 90's, this was the time that as a society our innocence was removed, we were introduced to the internet, cable and satelite TV as well as cellular phones. News, sports, movies and music were beamed into our homes at a substantially different level all of a sudden we could see, hear and experience it all in real time ... the good the bad and the ugly and we ate it up, we devoured it all and it changed us faster and more dramatically than anything in the previous 100 years. Love it hate it or indifferent to it that did not matter because the 90's came and then they went and they left us affected .... affected to our very core.

This cache & puzzle is the sequel to my fun and popular cache from the GBD7MM series called The 80's. This one is solved pretty much the same way but has a little something extra at the end (you know kind of like how the decade it self ended with the Y2K scare) but just like that this little change is nothing to fear, it's really Just a bunch of yada yada yada about nothing ... not that there is anything wrong with that so just embrace it and enjoy the ride. Man these pretzels are making me thirsty.

The Puzzle

To solve the puzzle you must watch the video link below and figure out from which year of the decade each clip is from. You then need to add the number (which will appear in red) for each clip to the running total for each year of the decade. When you are done each year will have 4 clips one movie, one song, one news story and one sports moment. Once you have all the totals for each year you will then need to use the clips at the end of the video to sort the years into groups. You will then have to find the sum for each group and finally use those sums in an equation to determine your correct numeric keyword. You can then enter your numeric keyword into the geo checker and if you are correct the checker will provide you with the coordinates to the secret location of the cache. Where you can go and search for the themed container and sign the logbook to claim your find.

The Final Equation

For this equation I have decided to use something that is synonymous with the 90's for me and that is the TV Sitcom Seinfeld which ran from 1990 -1998 covering 9 years of the decade. At the end of the video you will see a series of 9 Seinfeld sound clips from 9 different episodes from the series. You will need to identify the episodes and find the their original release dates to determine which years go into which group for the final equation. Since no episodes of the show aired in 1999 that year's total will stand on it's own to begin the equation.

Take your total for 1999 and multiply it by your total for group A

Now take your new number and add your total for group B

Now take your new number and multiply it by your total for group C

Your answer should be the numeric keyword
