This cache is part of the Virginia State Parks 80th Anniversary Adventure. Each state park has a unique cache for this series.
This cache is in a clear lock-n-lock container and will contain a logbook, pencil and unique collector's card. There are small prizes for finding 5, 10, 20, and ALL of the caches. You’ll find this cache just off the Claytor Lake Trail and somewhere scenic! The terrain can be described as woody and hilly. The elevation of the cache is 1,953’.
Let it be known that the cache container blends well into the woody environment! What you’ll see where the cache is located has been translated into collector's cards honoring the 1930’s WPA era of posters for National Park sites. To best access the cache park at the parking lot located in the cabin loop just past the Lakeview and Claytor Lake Trail kiosk. You’ll need to hike on the Claytor Lake Trail to find the cache.
