CHURCHES OF DAUPHIN: The City of Dauphin has a very diverse religious background, evident by the number and variety of churches in and around the city. In your cache quest, you will be brought to some of these landmarks, some have historical plaques, some have their own websites, a few I will try to bring some enlightenment to, have fun learning about Dauphin’s heritage. (Unfortunate due to nearness of adjacent caches, I am not able to bring you to all Dauphin churches.)
The Dauphin First Baptist Church congregation got started in 1897 with the first church built in 1906 followed in 1960 with the building of the present church. There are approximately 100 regular churchgoers coming from all walks of life and backgrounds. The church hosts the MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) program and supports the Dauphin Community Youth Ministry, Dauphin Bible Camp and delivers “Meals on Wheels”. The church is sponsoring refugees and has missionaries in Uganda, Bolivia and Zambia. (Cache placed with the permission of the church.)
