Geocache Description:

A geocache on a particulary picturesque corner of downtown Troy.

This is a re-imagining of a cache I had here previously, which had to be removed after a week due to an unforeseen change at GZ.  This one, however, should hopefully be around much longer.

On the south side of Congress is Russell Sage College, founded in Troy in 1916 by suffragist Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage. The large Greek Revival building you see is the Julia Howard Bush Memorial Center. On the northeast corner of the intersection is the Vail House, which now serves as the residence of Sage's president.

1st Street runs from River Street to the north all the way to the southern end of Troy where it meets up with 4th Street. Congress runs east from the Hudson river, joins Ferry Street to become State Route 2, and continues all the way to North Cambridge, MA, just a few miles outside of Boston.

Extreme stealth will be required here.  The cache is not on any structure that is part of a private residence, including the Vail House. It's easily reachable from the sidewalk. Please replace exactly as found.

Good luck!

Congrats to orienteeer for the FTF!
