The site of Edwin Epps Plantation is viewed from the church side of the bridge crossing Bayou Boeuf (now closed).
The original plantation contained some 300 acres in the 1850 era. This is when Solomon Northup was enslaved from 1843 to 1853 and where Avoyelles Sheriff Voorhies and Attorney Northup from New York came to pick up “Platt” as he was called then.
