A geocache is a container hidden from prying eyes. Geocachers are people who find it but do NOT remove it. They leave it for the next geocachers who come searching for it and simply write their name on the log sheet to show they've found it, replacing the geocache container by hiding it as well or better where they found it. Please follow proper geocaching etiquette by doing this.
In some areas, it’s customary to honor geocachers who obtain an outstanding milestone by placing a specially painted ammo box, such as a silver one, for finding 1000 caches…not so much around here. But I’ve placed this one for a caching couple that have reached a truly outstanding milestone recently…10,000! In addition, they’ve placed numerous quality caches in the area. In your log, it would be fitting to share any memorable adventures you’ve shared or any of their caches that have stood out in your experience. From the title, you can probably guess who they are. Congratulations Astro-D Team.
The cache container is an ammo box and placed in a setting that seems appropriate to their nature. It is stocked with some swag that the youngsters in the family might appreciate but please trade fairly…NO JUNK! And beware of muggles…this is a very busy area which is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily from Sept. 16-April 14 and 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from April 15-Sept. 15.
Permission to place was granted by Mike Reed, director, on 3/18/16.
