Geocache Description:

Your GPS unit is going to go wiggy here, so you might want to use the clues. This is also known as "The Pacing Cache."

April 13, 2004....I did cache maintenance on the three caches in this park. Also, starting about Memorial Day there is a $3.00 fee to use this park. This cache is going to start where "There's A Bridge Here Somewhere Cache" ends. Your GPS Unit is going to be pretty flaky here, so count your steps. The pace was measured at about 3 feet per pace, give or take an inch or two. From "There's A Bridge Here Somewhere Cache", keep following the path the direction you were heading before you found the cache. Go past the wooden object, and take a Left at the "Y".This time, when you get to the river, you have not gone too far. At the point where you can see the river, and the trail gives you a choice, choose East. Now you get to pace yourself.Follow the East path for 150 paces. At this point, take a Left around the "island of trees" for 50 paces. At this point, there is a good spot to get your bearings. Let your GPS rest a bit.....it's still going to take a while and it's still not going to be super accurate. Hopefully it'll read something like N 44° 03.251 & W 122° 49.423. But it doesn't really matter, because you won't need it to find the cache. From this bearing spot, continue down the same path in the same direction for 46 paces. Turn North and go 10 good paces, with a slight Left turn. Make a circle around the target - the two big-'uns standing there, and find the cache from the back. Please cover it back up pretty good, as there are a lot of people using this park.
