This year's WWFM (World-Wide Flash Mob) will be held on June 4th at 12:00 noon. This year marks the 13th year of the WWFM. This will be my 6th WWFM event that I have hosted. If you're not familiar with it, once a year flash mobs occur around the world at the same time to bring attention to geocaching. Last year, 389 events were held in 40 countries with 13.000 attendees.
Come join us for this year's mob. After 6 of these, I'm running out of ideas for unique mob themes. One of my past favorites was the "Cacher in the Hat" mob that Mama Jane and I held in Princeton a few years back. So I thought we'd bring back that theme. So, bring your craziest, favorite, most unique hat and let's show them off. If you don't have one, I have extras and will bring them along. We will have a fan-voted favorite hat with special prize for the winner.
Here's how it will work: Show up a few minutes before flash time. Wait in your car or stroll the Greenway until 12:00 noon at which time we will descend upon ground zero. Please bring a card or piece of paper with your geocaching name on it. You will drop these into a container I will have at GZ rather than try to get a sign-in sheet done. We will get in a group picture or two and hang out until 12:15 when we will disperse. As events now have to be 30 minutes, we can hang around and catch up on caching stories or stroll a bit and pick up some caches.
Please log if you intend to come. My plan is to have WWFM XIII pathtags for everyone and it will help to know how many are attending. I don't want to run out like I did last year.
