As I've not hosted a CITO event before, I asked Sheffield City Council to suggest an area that could benefit from a clean up and they suggested helping the Friends of Parkwood Springs who are having a clean-up on Saturday 23 April 2016. This coincides with the CITO weekend so if you attend you will be rewarded with a shiny new souvenir! The event is only for a couple of hours in the morning so why not come along before the 'Getting Legless on St. George's Day' event happening in the afternoon near Barnsley. There's time for both (I'll certainly be attending both)!

We will be supporting the Friends of Parkwood Springs on their general spring clean event, with general activities including painting, cutting back vegetation and litter picking. The park rangers will supply tools and gloves (although if you have these already please bring them just in case we run out). Make sure you wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather and bring some food and water as necessary. I might even be persuaded to bring some cake as encouragement...
Meet at the car park on Shirecliffe Road / Cooks Wood Road at 10am where a health and safety briefing will be given before we head into the park. If you arrive late you can contact me on 075 1553 0651 or park ranger Nick Blood on 077 1315 8616 to find out where we are located. If this is your first event, we're a friendly bunch so make yourself known and we'll give you a warm welcome.
