Union Cemetery, which was once the churchyard of the Old Union Methodist Episcopal Church, was established in 1822. While the church is long gone, the cemetery remains. Unfortunately it was neglected terribly for many years before the land was donated to the township in the 1970s.
There are many Civil War veterans in this small cemetery, and plenty of burials whose stones are either weathered beyond legibility or completely gone. Pop in to pay respects and see a few familiar surnames that now are mostly known as streets in the area.
